deviheat 550 is a completely new type of thermostat. Earlier thermostats have been restricted to turning the electricity on and off. When supplied with an extra timer next to it the thermostat was able to turn the electricity on and off at pre-determined times. deviheat 550 however is different. It is a combined timer and thermostat "Two in One" in the same housing.

The Pro-Active deviheat 550.
deviheat 550 uses a sophisticated, unique regulator which enables deviheat 550 to work actively with comfort parameters, room temperature and economy, in order to improve on comfort and -at the same time- save on energy.
When the outdoor temperature drops, any thermostat controlled heating system will react by compensating the greater heat loss by increasing the floor temperature. deviheat 550 however, is programmed to understand, that if the floor temperature is higher, the air temperature can be lowered a little, -at the same comfort level. So, if the floor temperature is increased by +1ƒC, the air temperature will be decreased by -0,2ƒC, thus saving up to 10% energy compared to ordinary thermostats.

The intelligent timer.
The deviheat 550 can switch between comfort and economy set-back for each half hour, totaling up to 336 programs per week. The deviheat 550 operates with a forecast system, that constantly checks how heating and cooling of the room and floor is proceeding. You do not tell a deviheat 550 when to turn on the power. You tell it, at precisely what time a day you want exactly that temperature, and the deviheat 550 will take care of the rest.
The adaptive regulator.
The deviheat 550 controls the heating of a room by means of an adaptive regulator, which learns the room gradients (how fast cooling and heating proceeds). This enables the deviheat 550 to predict how long time heating a room to a specific temperature will take, -with a very narrow margin. This means, that the deviheat 550 will compensate for fluctuations in the outside temperature and allow the user, to operate with the same settings summer and winter.
